I have scoured Microsoft forums and Microsoft Help for instructions as to how I can make small capitals in Word for Mac 2016, but to no avail. I would not have even subscribed to Microsoft Office 365 had it not been for the fact that I needed it for a freelance assignment.
Any suggestions?
Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), iTunes prgram is current
Highlight the text that you want to appear in small caps. Right-click on the text and on the drop down menu you will see font. Click on font and a dialog box will appear. In the dialog box check/select the box that says small caps, your selection will be converted to small caps. There is also a keyboard shortcut: command, shift and k.

That's the first thing I did, of course. No luck. Other respondents have shown me the way,
Those are the same instructions in Office For Mac 2016 but they didn't help me -- no arrow in the lower-right corner of the Font group on the Home tab -- I think they changed the interface without changing the help. I only found it by searching through the menus.
NP, I just thought you might try the help menu. I don't have the same Word version as you but Small Caps is included in the help menu.
Thanks interesting info. Here is where I end up following the help instructions I posted. One of those interface differences between Word versions I guess.
Select the text. Go to the Format menu and click on Font. In the Font dialog at the top where it says Font Advanced click Font. In the Effects section put a check mark in front of Small Caps.
Thanks so much. I wasn't thinking along those lines because in previous version of Word for Mac, Microsoft went about it a far more complicated way. Which is to be expected.
Try looking in the Word help menu.
That's where I end up in Office 2016 as well -- it is the getting to that point where Help is of no help 🙂
That's also true of the phone-in Microsoft Help Desk, They don't know a **** thing.
