Q: I have a Macbook Pro, Retina mid 2012, version 10.11.3 and every time I try to shut down or quit Photos it says "Are you sure you want to Force Quit? You will lose any unsaved changes." Does this mean I will lose any photos I have on the app?

My computer's software needs to be updated, but the iPhotos appears to be stuck, and is apparently trying to "repair the library"...it's been like this for a few days. Is it safe to Force Quit out of the app? Will I lose any pictures I have on it?

Yes, it's safe to force quit. If you've added new pictures after it stopped working properly, they may be lost. All your old stuff in the library should be OK unless the library is too badly corrupted to be fixed.
