Sep 6, 2016 12:24 PM in response to wickedwitch30by dialabrain,Just to be sure the drivers were installed correctly. When you downloaded the .dmg file and mounted it there was only one pkg to double click which installs the drivers. Is that what you did?

Sep 6, 2016 12:37 PM in response to wickedwitch30by K Shaffer,While I have two Epson printers, one is AIO with actual fax hardware (not online fax)
the second one is older, both can do photo quality; replacement ink is the issue, as
will be drivers as my newest OS X is Mavericks... Great printers, oldest worked with
pre-OS X (MacOS 9.2.2) and G3 Mac hardware; does OK, less quality, newer drivers.
The path to seek any drivers in the OS X after some may have downloaded:
Method one: Add a printer using a USB connection
To update the printer drivers and software for use in the latest OS X 10.x operating system,
use one of the following methods:
- Connect the USB cable to the printer and to the Mac.
- Click Install and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the software and create a print queue.
- Click the Apple menu (
) and then click System Preferences. Click Print & Scan, (
icon gone) and then make sure that your printer is in the list of available devices.
This link shows the above and also mentions details on a second setup:
Step two: Add the printer using a USB, network, or AirPrint connection
(Two topic site URLs cover some detail on HP drivers & your device in El Capitan...)
HP Printers - Setup the printer in OS X 10.7 or newer
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c03413323
If your printer supported OS X 10.9 or 10.10, it should continue to support OS X El ...
supported in OS X 10.7 and newer with a .dmg driver download available ...
NOTE: AirPrint is available in OS X v10.9 and newer for select HP LaserJets where
indicated below. ... Download available from HP.com 6 ... (P) = Print-only driver avail-
able in Apple Software Update (does not include fax or scan drivers).
The first of these URL, is where my earlier link came from to add printer via USB, etc.
The second link I did not enter into, but found it when looking in general topic search.
You may be able to attach printer to a wireless base station by USB perhaps direct
some printer work orders there; I've done that with certain model printers, ones that
were actually not supposed to do wi-fi printing at all. Unsupported models can have
fewer print options with alternative methods, or sketchy drivers; including 3rd party.
Sorry to not be of much help in this matter.
Good luck!
