i the subject line email a legit e-mail? i keep getting this email claiming my lost device was found. please advise.

No it is not. You will only get notifications from Apple regarding Find My iPhone actions (turning it off, turning it on, putting the phone in Lost Mode, Playing a Sound, etc.). You will not get any notification if it is found.
