Can you make a screen shot and post it here?
It is the symbol for an internet stream, normally associated with radio stations. If you store media on a NAS it is possible that iTunes has changed regular file references for streams.

I am a supporter of WMVY Radio and periodically they send me hyperlinks of full songs by artists to add to my Itunes library. When you drag and drop the links into Itunes they usually appear like examples 5-8 in the above screen shot.
My problem is that I stupidly cleaned up the way the artist name & song looked for asthetics but found out after I did, the files no longer play. Am I out of luck in recovering these songs. They are 1-4 in the above screen shot. I am trying to figure out if the hyperlink as it appears when you drag and drop into Itunes is the only active script possible to play the songs and if altered, will not work.
Yes, if you edited the hyperlink then iTunes has nothing to play. If you can reverse the edit you might be able to get back to them, although the other possibility is that the files are no longer hosted at the URLs and you've spotted the issue while making other changes.

Thank You for your insight. The URL's are no longer active. It is only a few files lost and I now know better than to edit them. Again, thanks.
You're welcome. 🙂
