Q: Does iTunes 12 support the iPod Classic on Windows 10?

I think I already have the answer to this but I'd be interested in community feedback.  It would seem Apple has pulled the rug out from underneath us iPod Classic owners. I recently got a new PC with Windows 10 and an Apple tech informed me today that iTunes 12 does will not sync and does not support the Classic. It's shameful and it should be made more apparent.  They only stop producing the Classic 2 YEARS AGO!!  You win Apple, but I'll be shopping other phone and electronic options in the future.

I can only speak from my experience, but I have a 5th generation iPod Classic, and had iTunes on a laptop running Windows Vista, which worked fine until late 2015, when Apple stopped support for Vista OSs (which left me unable to upgrade past ~ v12.2, but at least it was stable). In February, I bought a new laptop running WIndows 10, and I've had no problems updating and using iTunes, all the way through the current version (12.4.3.1).

So I would venture to say that if you are having issues with a current version of iTunes, roll back to a pre-Vista stoppage version, like 12.2... not the best solution, as you'll get no new features, and any minimal security issues might increase over time, but at least you'll have a working version. Hope this helps.
