Q: imovie laggs

since a new update my imovie does not load in clips longe than 5 seconds and laggs extremely. Help please!

    iMovie 11 is not fully compatible with El Capitan and exhibits many anomalies. The only solution is to upgrade to iMovie 10.1.2 which is the latest.

    thanks for your help! I acutally do have the newest version and made a small error when submitting this...

     

    do you have help for the 10.1.2?

    When you say it doesn't load in more than 5 seconds of a clip are you referring to importing tape or video file or are you referring to adding clips from the browser to the timeline? As to lagging do you have your media on an EHD or on the boot drive. What are your computer specs i.e. RAM and video RAM? Lagging is most commonly caused by slow delivery of media from where it's stored or insufficient graphics memory.
