Q: Transferring files from MacBook Air to new MacBook Pro?

I am considering buying a new MacBook Pro, but I currently have a MacBook Air. I need to transfer my software and files. What is the easiest way to do this, since the Air only has USB ports and a Thunderbolt?

MacBook Air (11-inch Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11)
