Q: Using iMac with no internal display
The adhesive for my display became extremely weak after it was cracked during a move, and one day it fell out and shattered on the desk, so I have been using it basically as a server. I connect to it with thunderbolt and set it to run time-intensive tasks like moving data around my network...my issue is that it runs so unbearably slow...i am wondering if the thermal sensor from the lcd not being attached is throwing off the SMC somehow? i upgraded the storage to solid state, and it makes no difference which version of OS X it is running. they are all 45 seconds or more to open any menu, switch to any other app, if i play a song from iTunes it skips half a second every 4.5 seconds...would it be beneficial to just bridge the connector for the thermal sensor? is there any firmware modification for this?
iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)
