Q: Trackpad Issue
hello team;
i have a issue with my macbook pro 13 ( mid 2009) A1278. I was using my macbook without issues two days ago, actually i was downloading the " Xcode" app and i left the mac on my table and i went to bed. when i woke up went to check the progress of the download and i got an error message " fail to download the app" or something like that, so i sent the mac to sleep and went out. When i came back i woke up the mac, plugged a SD card reader into an USB port and the iOS kind of freeze or crash , i wasn't even able of " force quit apps" so made a hard reset by pushing the power bottom for 5 seconds, when i turned it on again my trackpad wasn't working properly, i was able to track and use all gestures except clicking, right now double click works 4 out 10 attempts, same for single click, I CANT DRAG AND DROP OR CLICK AND SELECT . i tried the following steps without success:
- took out the trackpad and clean it .
- plug out/in the trackpad flex on both ends ( board to trackpad/ trackpad to board).
- made the caps lock+control+option+ Power bottom reset.
- made the " on its sides clicking".
- put my mouth on the side of the trackpad and blew.
- removed the battery.
- I booted a fedora live CD to validate if the problem is hardware or software but the trackpad didn't work at all.
My last step would be make a factory reset but first i want to know if there is something else to try.
NOTE: Magic Mouse is working perfect.
Thanks.
MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)
