I think I accidentally sent a file via airdrop share in a coffee shop. Would my iPad see a confirmation if they accepped this file? I'm not sure if it went or was accepted by the person in the coffee shop. I was using the app ADP and hit the share button in stead of open in iBooks. Just moving my fingers too quickly and not paying attention.

First, did you set AirDrop up to access "Everyone"? If not, there is no problem.
Yes, you would see a confirmation (if you chose to look at it, which may not be the case since you say you missed many other obvious warnings.) It would display near the person's circle ...
If you sent the file to Ben and he accepted, you would see a small notification by Ben's circle.
I'm hoping it's pain free. The file I sent was a copy of my paycheck stub that has my salary for the past year, home address, company name and worker ID number. At least the full S.S. number wasn't showed, just the last 4 digits. But it could have been a lot worse. I could see where you'd could accidentally send a loan application with everything exposed.
I've got to be more careful in the future.

Thanks for the help. I think it just said Airdrop. I never set it, since I never used it before. I've been playing with it since I got home. I see that after clicking it to be off it says AirDrop, but I can still send airdrop file to my Mac.
You're correct that I may have missed any warnings that popped up. This will teach me to pay more attention to what I'm clicking on.

This sounds like a pain-free lesson.
Also be careful about sending/receiving any personal information (e.g., banks, credit cards) at public wi-fi - although iPad Air 2 supports Apple Pay which is just fine to use in a public setting.
