You cannot use your gift card balance to buy a gift.

You would need to use your Credit card to pay for a gift

iTunes balance is not transferable.

If the recipient lives in the same country, buy a new iTunes gift card and send it via the post (snail mail)

You will be better off starting your own thread instead of posting on an unrelated one - and give full details e.g. what exactly is happening (including the full text of any error messages), including when and where it's happening (e.g. computer's iTunes, iOS device)
