No service after updating to ios 9.3.5

Hi all,

Having an issue with my iphone 6. I was over in Spain and phone was working perfectly normal until I updated to the latest ios. Once updated it just comes up "searching" in the network bar and eventually says no service. I assumed this was just a problem abroad and would resolve when I got back to the UK but it is still having the same issue.

I have tried a lot of methods I have found online but nothing seems to work.

I will list below what I have tried:

Reset network settings

Reset all settings

Hard reset (done with sim in phone and sim removed from phone)

Tried another sim card in phone and still didn't work

Tried my sim in other phone and it worked ok

Turning off and on aeroplane mode

Contacted O2

Followed the instructions for "If you can't connect to a cellular network or cellular data - Apple Support"

Backed up phone and done full reset

Restored iphone

None of the above have resolved the issue. When I go into setting I no longer have the carrier tab either.

Any help to resolve this would be much appreciated

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.5, null

Hi Dave,

Did you find a solution at the Apple store?

I have exactly the same problem. I purchased the iPhone 6S on my trip to USA and using it here while I am in India. I keep getting No Service and I have to toggle the airplane mode to search network. Many times when I turn mobile data off, the network just disappears. There's absolutely no issue with simcard as I tried two other simcards on the my handset and guess what, same problem!!

Moreover here in India we have 2G and 3G, whenever I switch mobile data to 2G there is "No Service" and will only work when 3G is on. I have followed all the steps that you mentioned above but no relief.

When I took my device to a Apple store in USA for repair few months ago, they did not detect any problem, did a hard reset and my phone was working fine until recently same old problem resurfaced. It is so unfortunate that now when I need to take it for repair, Apple representatives say the warranty does not allow me service in India (Phone is still in warranty ). Logically, Apple should genuinely try solving the problem rather than explaining me limited warranty clauses.

(Apple folks reading this kindly genuinely try solving my problem by extending support by allowing me one apple store visit in India as the handset shows problem for Indian simcards/networks)
