Q: Macbook Air display stopped working

Hi Team,

I have purchased Macbook Air in the year 2015, which I have been using just for office purpose with no rough usage and hardly any scratch on the system. Just after my warranty expired in this year my display stopped working.

Although, remaining parts are responsive but my display is showing very light logo of apple, nothing apart from that. When I checked with the Apple Service Centre. They are saying display needs to be replaced and that will cost me Rs 48,850 Or exchange this laptop to newer one with Rs 15,000 reduction on the latest one.

My laptop costed me Rs 65,000 and within 1year of usage the display stopped working. For the changing display just after 1month of warranty expiration Apple care is asking me to pay Rs 50,000. Paying such a huge sum of money just for display is ridiculous, which would mean that the remaining parts (motherboard, ram, hard disk, keyboard etc) are at meagre amount of 15000 in total?

The quality of service provided by Apple centre, and the fact that the display stopped working just after the warranty expiration seems to prove that the products are manufactured in such a way that on it's failure, people have to pay astronomical amounts to get those fixed.

This type of quality of products and it's service is not at all expected from a reputed company like Apple.

Please provide a solution to this on priority.
