Apple Pay Error

I am suddenly have an issue with Apple Pay. I first noticed this in my Starbucks app, when the reload option was no longer able to recognize my print to authorize a purchase. I was not having issues with touch verification in any other app, so I assumed this was an issue with Apple Pay.

I ended up removing my card to attempt just re-adding it, and now I am receiving this message: "Could Not Set Up Apple Pay: An error occurred while setting up apple pay".

I have tried logging out of iCloud and logging back in, I have tried restarting my phone, and I have tried disconnecting from WiFi. Unfortunately, these attempts have not helped in finding a solution. I use Apple Pay often because it normally makes purchases easier! I am currently operating iOS 9.3.5

Has anyone else experienced this problem? I really would hate to do a full reset on my phone, as I have a ton of music and I'm afraid that could result in me losing some of my songs. It's odd that it works great for months, then just decides to give me trouble!

Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi

It may help to follow these steps:

Go to: Settings > iCloud - at the bottom of the screen, Sign out.
Go to: Settings > Touch ID & Passcode - Turn Passcode off.
Restart your iPhone.
Sign back in to iCloud, turn Passcode back on and try again to add your card.

When adding the card, follow the steps here:

Yes, the same problem here, it worked fine then stopped. Now I cannot add any cards to Apple Pay.

Tried, reset phone, restart phone, de-activate and re-activate in iCloud etc still the same error "Could Not Set Up Apple Pay: An error occurred while setting up apple pay".

It might help if there was any indication of the type or cause of error.

This started on iOS 9.3.5 and is still there on iOS 10
