Q: iMac and MacBook Pro Photos Error

I have a MacBook Pro (Mid-2010) and an iMac (Late-2009). The MacBook runs Mountain Lion and the iMac has El Capitan (and another partition with Sierra). On the MacBook Pro, I am trying to export the photos (from iPhoto) as .JPEGS, but I get an error saying unable to create /Users/name/Pictures (which is the location I selected). So I tried grabbing one (individually) and dragging to the desktop and it said "Cannot export DSCXXXX.jpeg because there is no such file" (Even though the photo is right in front of me). I got a thumb drive and went into /Users/name/Pictures and dragged iPhotos Library onto the thumb drive. After it copied, I plugged it into my iMac and opened the iPhotos Library. It converted it into a Photos library, but I'm still getting the same error messages. Thanks in advance!

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), null
