Q: passcode suddenly only 4 digits

hi,

this morning my phone is asking me suddenly for a 4 digit passcode instead of my 8 digit passcode which I entered some weeks ago. How  can I switch back to the entry mode for 8 digit passcodes (letters and figures)?

Thanks a lot in advance.

When setting up a new passcode the option for the number of digits should appear. Tap on Passcode Options and just follow the instructions here:

It's a relatively common problem unforunately.

If you do not know the passcode, the only way to bypass that screen is to restore your iPhone, which will unfortunately erase all content on your iPhone. This is a security precaution set up by Apple, so people cannot access your information without that specific passcode.

Go into iTunes and plug in your phone and click restore on your computer screen.

If you ARE able to get passed that code, and you simply want to change it, navigate on your iPhone to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode > (enter your 4-digit passcode) > Change Passcode.

    Good luck!
