itunes codes fraud

I purchased an Itunes code on Ebay from Paypal digital gifts. When I attempted to use the code 2 weeks later, it had been redeemed. I contacted both Paypal digital gift cards (the seller) and Apple.

Both refused to do anything to help or reimburse me. despite my providing a receipt and detailed information about the purchase. Apple was able to tell me the code had been redeemed (stolen) but refused to provide me with information as it would " violate the privacy" of the thief in question. Apple further suggested I contact the police and file a report? Seriously? Where am I even supposed to begin with that task?

Apple further claims they blocked the account of the person who redeemed the code (which I seriously doubt and can of course not prove) If that's true, that means Apple keep the money from the sale and did not provide a product to me or the thief.

So they kept the $100, and told me to get lost. NICE CUSTOMER CARE!!!!!!👿

OK. Let's say you're looking for a truck. You buy a Ford F150 on eBay. You pay the seller. You go to pick it up and the address they gave you is a parking lot. You got ripped off. Do you think Ford should give you a truck because 'they already got paid for it'? Of course not. That's ludicrous. This is pretty much EXACTLY the same thing. Complain to eBay. Learn to be more careful in the future.

geo1733, I get it since it has also happened to me. Apple sold you and me the gift card on eBay through Paypal Digital Gifts. They are the seller and responsible party, not Paypal and not eBay. Apple and Paypal have both told me by phone that Apple sold it. It was not a card being resold by a third party. If you are U.S. based, I would like to hear more about what happened to you as I am currently having Apple "investigate" the exact same situation with the same $100 amount and used apparently around the same time as yours possibly by same person who I was told is in Asia. Something is very fishy here.
