Q: Iphone 6+ touch disease Reporting

I am now on my third iPhone 6 +, two of which suffered from the touch disease after screen replacements.  Both of the screen replacements was one small crack, from a mild fall, that the glass cracked on.  The screens are not tough and the system board is weak also.  I am lucky I have a square trade warranty, but these repairs have cost me money, time and aggravation.  I personally have had two phones with this and know that this is an epidemic.  I went to the apple store, prior to the posting of Ifix it report and two others had the same issue.  They were having people pay for screen repairs and swapping out phones, for Apple's defect.  I am very disappointed in Apple right now.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.3.5, 3rd phone!

The first screen repair was apple.

The phone came back with touch disease

Apple sent me a replacement, 1 month later, the phone slipped down my leg and a crack in the glass.  I live in a remote area so sealing with Apple is challenging, so I had a 3rd party do it.  The touch disease was there immediately with the screen replacement.  They reseated the video cable and it worked well for a month, then it started to putter out.  While on vacation touch disease became so unresponsive that I decided to try the Apple store, they refused to work on it because of the 3rd party screen.  I told them that this is a reoccurring issue and is not because of the screen.  The phone was not dropped in between.  The touch disease happened and the screen was in perfect shape.  Took it back to third party, they tried three screens and told me it was the logic board.  Two days later the touch disease is reported.

I have a square trade warranty so the replaced the phone with another iPhone 6+ for $75, but I still would like for Apple to recall these phones and replace them with 6s+, where they fixed the IC chips on the logic board.

Since Apple does not sell parts, it is probable that the screen used for the replacement was defective. You found out also, that once a 3rd party does work, Apple will no longer service the device.

If you would like to tell Apple what you think, then you need to use the feedback link, http://www.apple.com/feedback. They do not participate here in the forum. However, since you have had a 3rd party modify your phone, I'm not sure that if they did talk about recall that they would service your device, since you voided your warranty.

I understand about the 3rd party, but I am just reporting that I have had the "touch disease" on two phones after screen replacements.  I am trying to report this to the group so others can find commonality.  This is an issue, and it is a design flaw.  I have had the Iphone 3, 3g, 4s, 5, 5s and the 6+ and the 6+ is the only model that has given me hardware issues. It is sad that Apple is not being more receptive to folks having the issue.

This is a user-to-user forum. So, the only people you're reporting this to are us, your fellow users. I'm not sure I see the point.

As Meg has told you, this is not Apple. No one here needs to find commonality, since no one here has any affect on things. If you want Apple to know, and make your demand for a recall, then you need to tell Apple, not us. I've had the original iPhone, the 3G, 4, 4s, 5s, and 6s. We have also had a 5, 5c, and 6+ in our family and my son had the 6+ and was quite a power user, and it held up just fine up through him replacing it with his 6s+. It is still functioning for music for him. Speculation on Apple's decisions is prohibited here by the TOS. Again, address Apple.
