Q: How do I delete Photos from iPhone/iPad/iCloud and not Photos

How do I take a photo with my iPhone/iPad, allow it to sync to Photos on my Mac via iCoud and then delete it from my iPhone/iPad/iCloud and not delete it from Photos on the Mac? I want to save the photo on the computer and conserve space on the small devices?

I keep seeing articles about turning iCloud off and on but it seems the photos all go back onto the devices once turned back on. I want iCloud on to use as a conduit to get the photos to my computer, not as a grand storage space. I want the Photos app on my Mac to be where all the photos are complied and stored and to choose which ones are left one each device.

Right now they are all in Photos on the Mac, but I'm worried if I delete them from my iPhone/iPad that they will disappear from Photos on the Mac. I don't fully understand the new Photos app with all the missing features from iPhoto.

Thanks!

You can not as that is not how iCloud Photo Library works - it is not a conduit but a total sync service whose entire reason for existence is to keep all connected libraries identical - all changes made on any device (addition, deletion or edit)  are made on all devices. For devices with limited storage you use optimized photos

If that is not what you want then use another service - USB import, iTunes sync, MyPhotoStream for example each do different things and each can move photos from one device to another

And Photos is not missing lots of features form iPhoto - in fact it has many more features than iPhoto including iCloud Photo Library as a large one and better editing capability and better external editing capability and on and on
