is there an internal battery in Mac Pro mid 2012 desktop, and if so, what is  it and where does it go?

    Thanks, you are right.

     

    It is very likely.

     

    As a matter of fact, on pages 79 and 80 of the users manual, they show that there is a BR2032 lithium battery,

    conveniently located behind the graphics card which must be removed to install it. (No wonder I couldn't find it:-)

    Instructions for removing the PCI card are on page 74.

     

    I forgot I still had the user manual, it is a tiny little thing, but I finally found it.

     

    There doesn't seem to be any way to check the voltage on the battery without removing it.

    Does anyone have a workaround?
