Q: phone calls to not use apple device

I keep getting phone calls saying do not use your apple device, are these legitimate calls.. I am afraid I may be a target? I did call back one time and they wanted me to hook to my desk top (I didn't).. I cant afford to mess it up, so I just haven't been using it :-/

iPad, iOS 9.3.5

These sound like scams. No one is going to call you and tell you not to use your Apple device. Who is supposed to be making these calls? Did they call you by name?

They're no more legitimate than the e-mail I got today wanting me to verify my Apple id...on the e-mail that's not associated with Apple.

It's the latest iteration of the 'you have a virus, let us remote in and fix it for you'. Phishing at the best, out right identity theft and scam at the worst.

Apple will NEVER call or contact you out of the blue. You have to do something first to instigate it....such as try to contact them, or change your Apple ID password, or change your billing info, etc.
