Q: Is there such a thing as a wireless usb port, that doesn't need upstream USB cable that goes into the usb slot in the main computer?

Is there such a thing as a wireless usb port, that doesn't need upstream USB cable that goes into the usb slot in the main computer? I've looked all over but I can't seem to find one. I absolutely hate wires, and I'm trying to clear my desk of as many as possible.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)
