Q: How do I fix my computer if the buttons in the apps are not working?

Inside the apps on my computer other than Safari, System Preferences, Kindle, and Adobe apps, the buttons are all not working. If you try to press anything nothing happens. Probably a software problem, but how do I fix it? It is a virus or what?
