Q: Notes retaining removed links?

I have a 27-inch Late 2013 iMac running OS X 10.11.6 and an iPhone 6s Plus running iOS 9.3.5 with both signed into the same iCloud account.

Notes seems to sync changes pretty instantly, so that part is fine.  However, when I remove links from Notes on the iMac (for example, if I put in an account number, it sometimes thinks the number is a phone number) by right-clicking on the number and then removing the link, that does not seem to change on the Notes app on the iPhone.  I removed links from about 20+ account numbers on the iMac but when I open Notes on the iPhone, it shows all the "links" still there.

Just to make sure syncing was working, I added a dummy line of text on the iPhone, and that showed up instantly on the Mac, and vice versa.  But for some reason, changing a number from a link to a non-link doesn't seem to sync.

What am I missing?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

That may not yet be a feature of iOS.  Suggest it to Apple so that it may be included in a future update -- http://www.apple.com/feedback/

    Already submitted.

Darn, I was hoping I was overlooking a simple setting.

    Thanks for your input!

It's called Data Detection and is conducted separately by each device. That's why this is not being synced across devices. I'm not sure why it matters, as you can just ignore it, but...

AFAIK, Data Detectors can't be turned off on iOS devices, but can be in some apps on Mac OS X.

"Turn data detection on or off: In an app, choose Edit > Substitutions > Data Detectors (a checkmark shows it’s on). To turn it off, choose the command again."

It's a first world problem, to be sure.  I'm not sure why it matters, as you could have just ignored this question, but...

Snark aside, it's an aesthetic thing, but also a functional thing.  Account numbers don't need to show up as yellow links that aren't supposed to be links.  Tapping on it accidentally might initiate an action that is unnecessary or impossible.
