Q: Kindle App not found on iTunes Store

Hi,

Not sure what to do about this, I'm searching for the Kindle app on the iTunes store (I have it on my phone, but my boyfriend wanted to install it on his iphone 6), and it's just not there! I used single and multiple keywords to limit search results, such as "Kindle Read Ebooks", I can look through the whole list of results, it's just not there! Even the Amazon app will show up but not the Kindle one. I looked on both our phones, AND through the iTunes store program on my PC, with no success.

We also tried searching through his search tool on his phone, and writing "Kindle" will make it appear, but when you click on it, it draws a blank screen with nothing happening (we also tried that after rebooting his phone, to no avail).

Someone can clue me in to the current issues? Why can't we get it? Thanks!

It appears to be momentarily removed from the App Store. Probably for updates.

Try again in a while, and it may show up again.

The app does not seem to be available for any device right now. Check again after Apple's "event" tomorrow.

The link opens an Item Not Available page.

I have the Kindle app installed on my iPad. I did an internet search (Google) from my computer for "iTunes Kindle app" (often easier to find apps that way) and it returned the following: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/kindle-read-books-ebooks.../id302584613?mt=8

Clicking on that results in it automatically opening iTunes on my computer and then displaying the message "The item you have requested is currently not available in the U.S. Store."

I have seen that message before when an item is temporarily removed, for example when it is being replaced with an updated version. I suspect that it will be available again shortly.

Indeed, when we tried even further through another mean, it said the app was not available for download in the canadian store, which is the same you got. Well it's good to know that it's probably very temporarily removed, still, quite odd to "remove" an app before updating it. Especially right at the moment where you've just bought a book and want to start reading it right there and then...

Thanks everyone, at least I know it's an issue that should be temporary.

This is exactly the wrong time!! I am going on a cruise THIS  THURSDAY! I am not going to pay the outrageous internet usage fees charged by the cruise line. So I figured I'll download a couple of books to read on my brand new iPad Pro. But no! I can't download the reading app from the AppStore. This is a total crock! Apple, it doesn't pay to **** me off!!

Apple are not here, we are fellow users.

If a developer has temporarily removed an app from the store then contact the developer, they are responsible for removing/putting back their own app

I just called Amazon regarding this and the first guy was aware of this and put me on hold to verify when it comes back on. Then the connection dropped and I got hung up on... So I tried again and the second guy seemed not very knowledgeable at all, and basically just told me to either download another reading app (like that's gonna help me with purchases!) or try again in 24 hours and call back if it's still a problem...

If you want to try your luck, and maybe get a better answer (and put some pressure on them), you can call them at 1-206-922-0866. There's less than a minute of wait time.

    Are you in the US?

My iPad Air 2 says, "Amazon Kindle is not available in the Philippine App Store, change country and try again."

No I'm in Canada. It says that everywhere right now, including the US. The app is just not there right now and it's frustrating...
