I am thinking of upgrading from 10.7.5 to the current version if El Capitan. My Macbook Pro meets all the requirements. Will the upgrade cause me a whole host of problems?

Also check to make sure there is a compatible driver for your printer.
Do a backup before installing, preferable 2 backups on 2 different drives.
