Q: Photos lost

I used to have an iPhone 4 and now bought an iPhone SE. I had used the new phone for a couple of weeks before I connected it to my MacBook, and when I did, it asked me if I wanted to sync the new phone with the stuff from the old one. I clicked yes, and now all the apps from the old phone are in the new one and all that, but what happened to the photos I took with the new phone? I can't find them anywhere, and my computer did not ask if I wanted to import them first before syncing... Are the photos lost?

iPhone SE, iOS 9.3.5

They would only be where you put them.  Did you fail to import them to your computer before restoring it from backup?

Restoring from backup erases your iPhone and replaces all the content with the content of the backup.

If you failed to import your photos, then they are gone.

    Sorry.
