Q: View Encrypted file on both my iMac & iPhone

I have a file that has sensitive data in it that needs to be encrypted and password protected.

I need to view this file on both my iMac and iPhone and also share this file with others that need it.

Can this be done?

Thanks

A PDF can be encrypted and password protected. A Mac can view this file using either Preview or Acrobat Reader and iOS devices like iPhones can also view such protected PDF files.

In case you don't know how to create this encrypted PDF:

1- Create the document you wish to encrypt (in any program and format you may need - e.g. TextEdit, Pages, Excel, whatever)

2- Command-P to print; in the Print Dialog, click PDF->Save as PDF...

3- In the Save dialog, click Security Options, check "Require password to open this document" and enter the desired password.
