Q: MacBook Pro 2009 : Error reinstalling OS after erasing disk
Just as the title says, I have a MacBook Pro 2009. I'm selling it so I reset the computer with the ol' reboot cmmd + r. I then went into disk utilities and erased the entire Macintosh HD. When I select reinstall OS X 10.8 (which is the last time I updated) I get the message "an error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again.
I double checked that my 500GB Internal hard drive had in fact been erased, and it had, I'm also on a wifi connection but on the left side of the utility bar theres a disk that says Mac OS X Base system that is 1.26 GB but only has 110.9mbs available. I'm guessing thats why I can't update the new OS. The problem is I can't erase it because all the buttons are inactive. So here I'm stuck. Anyone have any insight?
Thank you! -Sam
