The battery can be charged whenever you like. Charging will stop automatically once the battery reaches full capacity and start again automatically if and when required due to ongoing battery usage.

But I think it doesn't make a difference if you charge it some hours or overnight. The iPhone knows to stop charging.

Sep 7, 2016 5:33 AM in response to Summer fineby shweswap,Its best not to leave the phone connected overnight . Iphone battery charges pretty quickly you might as well charge it during the day while doing work . Maximum time it can take for full charge is two hours.
