Q: iphone 6 not synching/charging to macbook

My iphone6 has stopped synching/charging with my macbook pro. my last backup was in june so worked fine until then.

i have upgraded to the latest sw for both the iphone and the macbook. i also ordered a new cable from apple.com just to be sure. The iphone charges fine when plugged to a power outlet, while other USB products work fine on the same 2 ports on the macbook

is there a config and something on either the macbook pro or the iphone that can cause this?

Check this article if you can't sync iPhone with your mac. If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support But it seems that the problem is in cable.

Thanks Ella. I already changed the cable and i have tried the instructions in the link you provided and it still doesn't synch/charge.
