Would a 85w Magsafe power adapter hurt my MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010)

Hello everyone!

I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010, 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo).

Well after years of abuse, the skinnier chord (that plugs to the Macbook) has started to tear. I tried to slip some shrink wrap over it to secure it and make it last a little longer, but now I find myself wiggling the chord around to get it to start charging.

Anyways, I found an after-market company on Amazon called Supsun making them (link listed below) and recently purchased one. It says it'll work with my Macbook, but I didn't even think to check what wattage mine uses and after looking it up I found out mine originally uses a 60w.

Will this Supsun 85w Magsafe power adapter hurt my mid 2010 13 inch Macbook in anyway?

Thank you in advance for any feedback!

After reading horror stories of after-market batteries & chargers and finding out the company Supsun is a completely new company I've decided to just request to return the product and spring for a OEM Apple replacement instead.

Urgh, so expensive... but like you said the price difference compared to the possibility of having to buy another Macbook makes it worth it.

Thanks for the advice!
