problem using modem on my mac

When i upgraded my mac, it developed a problem of not installing modem.

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

if your modem "requires" software you should avoid installing it if at all possible.

Your Mac does not need to install the modem - rather, the modem needs to be set up to recognize the Mac. You can check manually on the online modem setup page (usually something like 192.168.x.x) or consult with your ISP.
