Q: Camera roll and all albums except selfies and videos disappeared

So, yesterday morning I woke up and my camera roll and every other album except the selfies one and the videos on was just gone. If I go into photos, they're all still there. I've reset my phone, I've left it off for 30 plus minutes, I finally updated it (as I was postponing it because of issues I've had in the past).. nothing has worked. I even tried googling it and nothing comes up.

iPhone 5c, iOS 9.3.5

Did you by any chance enable iCloud Photo Library in the Settings > iCloud > Photos&Camera?

It is suspicious, that you are no longer seeing a Camera Roll album.  The Camera Roll album and the My Photo Stream album will be hidden, if you enable iCloud Photo Library, and then your other albums may also vanish temporarily, while the iPhone is syncing with iCloud.

So, check your Settings > iCloud, if you accidentally enabled iCloud Photo Library.

    That does not look good.

The iPhone does not have any tools at all to repair the Photos Library on the iPhone. And neither can you reinstall the Photos.app without restoring the system on the iPhone.

I'd try, if creating a new album will bring your other albums back. Perhaps it is just a glitch.

If that does not help, make an iTunes backup of your device and restore it from the backup, see:

I was afraid of that. As I've had to do that before last year because my phone was glitching really badly. But, the guy that helped me at Apple said that you have to turn your phone off for a little each day so it clears out all the programs running in the background. I do that now so I'm not sure what happened. Maybe I'll contact Apple first and see what they say. I'd really hate to have to reset my phone back to factory again :/
