Hi all,
I am having issues with installing programs on a MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015) with OSX Yosemite 10.10.5.Specifically,when I download a .dmg file and drag it to my applications folder,nothing happens when I try to open it from the apps folder.Only the dock moves a bit,but the program doesn't show up.

Hi Veri, you need to double-click on the .dmg to open it then launch the app inside the folder, or drag the application to your Applications folder.
Restart your Mac.
The .dmg file is an installer package. Double-click on it wherever it was downloaded (or is now), then follow the installation steps.
If it still doesn't work, move the .dmg file to the trash and re-download it. It might have been corrupted.
I got the Anywhere option for gatekeeper,still not working.
Hey,I know I did that,the issue is with the app file in application folder,which doesn't respond when i double-click it.
Have you tried getting support from the developer?
