Q: Apple TV4 Music Playlist Shuffle Problem

First, Both AppleTV 4 and iTunes software up to date. Apple Music is off. Trying to play local files stored on a drive attached to an AEBS, same room, signal as strong as it can be. aTV about 15ft from AEBS.

When I play music, either in Songs or through a playlist and select shuffle, the first song starts fine but moving to the next song in the "Next" string, the string of tracks (with album art) appears briefly, moving to some random location in the Next string. The track starts playing, the string disappears just showing the current album on the screen (which is as it should be). When that song is done, the whole sequence of the Next string appearing, whizzing through to some random point and playing that songs repeats. This happens every time.

When shuffling, shouldn't just the next song in the "Next" string play? And I don't recall this shuffle process being a visible process, am I wrong about that?
