Q: iPod touch and Apple Music

Hello everyone,

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation. I know Apple Music does not work with it and when I try to put songs that i have downloaded them via Apple Music on my iPod it does not allow me. But why? Really is it that much hard to work with them. Is there anything that Apple Music will be compatible with these devices too? Or Apple just forgot their older devices? It makes actually no sense.

Thank you in advance.

Have a nice day

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

For the iOS device, the Apple Music streaming service is accessed directly, through the Music app.  A 4th gen iPod touch has insufficient system RAM and processing power to run the Music app.  My 5th gen iPod touch, which has double the RAM and a dual-core A5 chip (instead of single-core A4 in 4th gen) can run it, but it's working very hard to keep up.  I'm sure the current 6th gen model (with an A8 chip) runs it very smoothly.
