Q: Problems with iPhone battery

This is pretty weird. Last night I went to bed and the battery was at 60% (or around that) and I woke up this morning and my phone was dead. I thought something was wrong, but when I plugged it in, it started charging (from 1%).
I charged it for an hour or so, and now it's at 100%. However, it has been at 100% all day.
I'm worried that the indicator is wrong, or the battery itself. And I'm really worried it'll just die again (which is bad as I need the phone for an alarm).
Some other threads say you should let the battery die completely, then recharge it. But how do I know when it's running out if the indicator is stuck at 100%...

    Hello AnrBjötk,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding that your phone has been showing inaccurate battery percentage. I use my phone for my alarm too, so I know how important it is to see accurate battery percentage. I am happy to help.

With this type of issue it's possible the software or content within the iPhone is the cause. Restoring with iTunes addresses software issues. This step does erase all content and settings so it is very important that you back up first. Please use the steps in the link below to back up and restore with iTunes.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod

    Have a great day!
