Have a nice day.

Sep 7, 2016 11:04 AM in response to c-poulsenby OGELTHORPE,I confess that I do not know what a 'ultimo' and 'primo' MBPs are and what differences there may be.
That said, if your MBP did not have a 2.4 GHz CPU, I suspect it was an early 2011 MBP which came with 2.0, or 2.2 or a 2.3 GHz CPU. The late 2011 MBPs came with 2.4 or 2.5 GHz CPUs. It could be that the replacement logic board is for a late 2011 MBP, but in all probability, totally compatible.
Why the serial number is different is likely due to an oversight by the installer and simply reflects the new logic board.
Ciao.

Sep 7, 2016 2:00 PM in response to OGELTHORPEby c-poulsen,Primo = early
Ultimo = late
It did have a 2,4 CPU before i turned it in, so all in all the specs still seem to be the same. What confuses me is that the OS now recognizes my machine as an early 2011 and not as a late 2011 as it did before i turned it in
It seems like a downgrade from what i see

Sep 7, 2016 3:59 PM in response to c-poulsenby OGELTHORPE,All I can tell you is that NO early 2011 15" MBP had a 2.4" GHz processor. By definition, the replacement logic board is for a late 2011 MBP.
Ciao.
