If I can only shoot in 1080 but I plan to upload in 720, edit in 720?

My camera does not shoot in 720p so I shoot in 1080p. I always upload my weekly hour long program in 720p. Should I use a 720p timeline? If so, that should make encoding faster, right?

UUnless you prerender I don't think it will make a difference in exporting. However the 720 offers the advantage of reframing.
