Pages Crashing iPad & Iphone

I have the same issue with an iPad pro and iPhone 6. Pages crashes after typing a few letters most of the time. Sometimes it lets me type a paragraph before crashing. Sometimes it crashes while on the file list page. Hopeless.

it's pretty shocking and making it pointless using iWork. I am switching to an alternative now. I guess Apple just want the money for the hardware these days and don't care too much that their software is becoming unusable.

Running Pages on iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 7 Plus, iPad Air, and iPad Pro 12.9". App works fine on iPads, but crashes severely on iPhones. I've tried all of the following:

1. Close/Reopen App

2. Hard-Reset iPhone

3. Reinstall App

None of these have fixed it. I believe it is a network issue; occasionally the app will work with Airplane Mode enabled and all other networks turned off. However, it is a major issue that Apple needs to address as fast as possible. I'm a diehard Apple fan; the last thing I want to see is one of their amazing products stop working like this.

It's hopeless on my iPad Pro, barely runs for a minute before crashing. I just upgraded to an iPhone 7 plus and it's the same. I have switched to a new app for writing.

I suspect it's iCloud/network related as well. The network activity indicator is constantly going, the app slows to a halt and then it crashes. Logs seem to show 'abort' on the process and a lot of requests to free up memory.

I bought my iPad pro specifically for use on Apple pages and as an e-reader for my job. Yikes, I guess I should have known better than to buy an expensive piece of technology based on one program/app. Since October or November I've been carrying my laptop and bag to work since I can't use the device I bought. What's the deal, Apple?

I use it for writing, so I have switched to scrivener. Word is putrid. Over engineered and overpriced, but at least it runs for more than ten seconds. This current situation is unacceptable. I work as a software developer and if we treated our customers like this we'd be out of business.

My has a lot of Pages files. After recently Pages upgrade, it crashed on his iPad4 and iPad Pro.

I have tried to uninstall both Pages and using iCloud to download the 2500+ files. However only iPad Pro can run Pages w/o crashing. On iPad4, Pages will open for a 30 seconds then crash. Sometimes I can see files under Documents and sometimes the screen just show blank white background. Trying uninstall/reinstall Pages a few times but it always ends up the same result.

The previous version of Pages even it crashed sometimes, but never crash 100%.

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I know having an issue with the Pages app is not what you expect. Based on what you stated, it seems you maybe having issues with the Pages app crashing on both your iPhone and iPad. I would start with these steps to resolve this issue:

If an app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open

This has been going on for months and apple has provided no update for the app. I have been carrying my laptop to work because pages is essentially useless on my iPad. You're definitely not the only one experiencing this.

I tried all this as well. No change.

It's insane that we're now in February and the Pages iOS app is still useless. It's been over 4 months and apple has done nothing?

Did anyone else get a request for logs to and information about this issue? I hope it is sorted out soon as I would hate to have to go back to using Word.

My pages app is useless on both IPhone 6 and IPad air2 - it's reminding me of the bad days of Windows bsod!!

The fact Apple are failing to tackle this is very telling - terrible client focus

I got it and sent my crash reports to them. I am awaiting their response.
