Sep 7, 2016 3:05 PM in response to Chasahby William Kucharski,It will require use of a third-party device or the Apple Lightning Dock, which has a headphone jack built-in.

Sep 7, 2016 3:08 PM in response to William Kucharskiby Chasah,I can't really build a dock into my Brodit in the car.. do you know of any third party stuff available?

Sep 7, 2016 3:17 PM in response to Chasahby William Kucharski,Given that's the number one concern people are expressing, I suspect engineers world-wide are hard at work on solutions now.
It is possible, given BMW/Mini already sell something similar to connect a Lightning connector equipped phone to the USB and headphone jacks of their car stereos; note the web site linked is only an example as I've never used one.

Sep 7, 2016 4:15 PM in response to Chasahby Angel Vilchez,The battery life is now better, I expect not to be a problem. I don´t like that either :/

Sep 7, 2016 10:11 PM in response to Chasahby oolong1034,★HelpfulDefinitely a deal-breaker. Major oversight.
- Cannot charge and listen to music while DRIVING (this task is surely top priority for anyone with a car)
- Cannot charge and listen to music/make phone calls while WORKING (again a major activity for most people)
All of this is especially important as the battery life is short (and only gets shorter with time).
Apple, I think we have today seen the end of your time at the top. You have lost a lot of goodwill and reputation today that you are probably unlikely to recover from. Sad to see, hope you will try to recover.
(btw, wireless airpods/ear-phones are not a viable solution for long hours of listening due to potential impact on brain - impact is hypothesized but not much evidence to either confirm or deny yet. Long term studies will be needed so until then caution typically prevails.)

Sep 8, 2016 1:05 AM in response to oolong1034by leedave,Totally agree. Will not buy the new iPhone because of this. If they fail to bring the connector back I will have to take a deep breath and switch to Android. I don't want to do this, so please Apple get back on track and start making things again, that customers actually want and not more devices with less connectors.
...btw. a free adapter is not a solution for bad design, not even if it comes along with a free adapter carry bag.

Sep 8, 2016 8:57 AM in response to Chasahby jausenbox,I think this shows the sheer arrogance of Apple these days.
They could've just kept the design, gone with 2 lightning adapters or (best case) use 2 usb-c or 1usb-c plus 3,5mm.
Nope, they had to choose the ******** solution and call it courage.

Sep 8, 2016 8:56 AM in response to Chasahby lkrupp,People asked the same question when the new Macbook arrived with a dingle USB-C port, “How do I charge and use USB at the same time?” Fast forward and there are now dozens of solutions available. Same goes for the iPhone 7. Entrepreneurs are probably falling all over each other to get an adapter on the market before the iPhone 7 ships.

Sep 8, 2016 8:59 AM in response to lkruppby jausenbox, solution: use another bulky adapter. thats not user-friendly.

Sep 8, 2016 9:14 AM in response to jausenboxby lkrupp,A closed mind is difficult to debate with. It’s a done deal and in another year this will be the norm. If you decide to switch platforms that’s your prerogative. Nobody cares what you do.

No, we won't have to wait another year for them to become the norm. Already happened.
