Why won't my audio midi setup recognise my external midi devices? The midi interface and all midi devices are plugged in.

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Hi Indyuser,

Thanks for posting a reply so quickly.

I've tried doing everything you do in your video post, but the IAC driver remains dimmed, and when I Rescan Midi, the midi interface and connected devices don't even show up on the Midi Studio window. Any further advice you'd have on this would be very much appreciated, I'm really stuck.

Many thanks.

After downloading the latest driver for the USB midi interface I've got (m-audio midisoport 8 x 8 / s), the interface is now displayed in the 'Midi Studio' Window.

When I press 'test setup' in the midi Studio window, my dummy midi keyboard does respond and produce a noise when I press the keys. But I am still unsure of how to get my external sound modules recognised and displayed in the 'Midi Studio' window. I keep pressing 'Rescan MIDI' but nothing appears in the 'Midi Studio' window.
