Q: iPhone 6 flashlight does not work.. Bugged?

Hi Guys,

Been having an issue with my flashlight on the iPhone 6. It works when it wants to. It seems to work 3 out of 5 times I do a hard reset, but stops working shortly after.

I can sometimes get the flashlight to work by manually turning the flash to "ON" in the camera, but only sometimes.

I had the screen replaced over a year ago, have had problems right around that time. Since then I have tried the following:

Updated to latest IOS

Restored to factory settings

Replaced back camera

Replaced ANOTHER digitizer

Ensured tight cable 20 times (if it were a cable issue, it doesn't explain why the light works but 10 minutes later after not moving it does not)

Checked water damage indicators, they are fine.

All with no luck. So.... Anyone with a recommendation?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.1

    Who replaced the screen?

Local repair shop replaced the screen the first time. I recently replaced the screen again (as I cracked it, again).

I replaced the back camera, I replaced the 3rd digitizer.

I also today, replaced the power button/led light cable/ribbon.. Get the same results.

When pressing the flashlight button the light flickers, but rarely goes on.

Either the local repair shop or you botched something. You might try taking it back to the local repair shop but, even if it was their fault originally, it's going to be hard to make that case as you've mucked about in it so much yourself.

Apple does not view the iPhone as user-serviceable so, by having anyone unauthorized work on the phone, you've forfeit any remaining warranty or option for out-of-warranty support by Apple.

Yep, understood. Repair was done a year ago, phone was already out of warranty.

I inspected the connection for the power button, didn't see damage.

I seem to get some response when I turn the LED to the "on" position in the camera app. Flash light works sometimes after.

Though I had also reset to factory default/wiped clean and go no results.

That may be. However, Apple offers out-of-warranty support as well.

The phone is damaged. There's nothing anyone here can do to help you beyond suggesting you may need to purchase a new one.

Can another repair shop replace the components on the logic board with the non-damaged parts from my current?

You would need to ask the repair shop that question.
