I was wondering if the only difference between the two watches is that the Nike+ version comes with the perforated sports band and preloaded with the Nike+ software? Two things that theoretically could be added to the series 2 watch at a later time.
If I were to bet, I'd say you will be able to download the Nike + app to any Apple Watch as well as the faces and other software accoutrements, but the band will most likely be exclusive to the Nike + Watch version.
i.e I doubt the band will be sold stand alone.

In addition to custom bands, Apple Watch Nike+ also features custom watch faces and a permanent complication for the Nike+ Run Club app.
Note that the custom watch faces on Apple Watch Hermès have always remained exclusive to that range.

On the other hand, if you buy the Nike+ version, will you also be able to use the standard Apple watch faces besides the Nike+ faces?

So you are 100% sure that the folks that have a standard Apple Watch Series 2 will NOT be able to use the Nike+ software or complications on their watch?
And all the other features of the Series 2 will be available?
There will be no way to access the Nike+ on the generic series 2 watch?
Will there be any limitations for other software or complications on the Nike version that would make it more limited?
If there is any notion at all of using the Nike+ software, why wouldn't everyone want the Nike version. (taking the band choice out of the equation, since they are always swappable)?

That is not correct (nor is it what I said).
The redesigned Nike+ Run Club app can be installed on any Apple Watch.

Could anyone share information about what is meant by a "permanent" complication? Does this mean The Nike+ complication won't be available for non Nike+ watches, or just that you can't remove it from the Nike+ version?

Yes. Nike+ faces are "in addition" to regular apple watch faces
The Nike+ faces and complication will not be available for non-Nike+ watches.
Just like the HERMES faces are not available for no HERMES watches for instance.
