Create an extended network with AP Express as base station / AP Extreme as extension?

Hi,

Due to the layout of my apt, i'd like to create a network similar to that described in "Connecting to an existing Wi-Fi network as part of a legacy WDS or Extended Network" but where the Airport Express would serve as Base Station and my (existing) Airport Extreme would serve as extension / wifi range enhancer?

Is this possible?

Will the stereo hookup of the AP Express still function in this setup?

Thanks in advance!

Yes you can create an extending wireless network with either the Express or the Extreme as the "main" base station. However, both base stations must be either 802.11n or 802.11ac models and not the much older 802.11b or 802.11g base stations.

... and yes, AirPlay should still work with the Express performing as the "main" base station. By "main" I mean that this base station would be the one extended by another AirPort base station.
