Q: PDFs in iBooks are no visible to iTunes for iOS sync.

My PDFs stored in iBooks are no longer visible to iTunes, so I can't sync my extensive PDF library to my iOS devices. I've been doing  this for years. Not sure if it broke with El Capitan or iOS 9.3.5.

iMac running 10.11.6

iBooks 1.5

iTunes 12.4.3

iOS 9.3.5 (iPhone and iPad)

All devices and apps logged in to same iCloud account.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks, Chuck

    Hi,

Try this: select in iTunes on Mac Only pdf files, then all pdf will show up.

    Hi Raicya,

Thank you for responding! Good thought, and thanks for the screen shot.

I already tried this, but just to be sure, I tried again. iTunes still does not see any PDF files in iBooks. I attached a screen shot of iTunes and a screen shot of iBooks. I have many iBooks "Collections" and each of those has several business related PDFs. They used to sync to my iOS devices via iTunes until this feature broke some time in the last month or so.

I assume you put a check mark in the checkbox ?

Do you stil have that collections pdf in Finder in a folder ?

If Yes, do a test: remove one of the pdf from iBooks.

    Close iBooks.

Go to the folder and right click on it and open with iBook.

Then try to sync that pdf with a iOS iDevice.

But perhaps you have to merge the "several business related PDFs" to ONE pdf ?

    Raicya,

    I took your advice:

"Do you stil have that collections pdf in Finder in a folder ?

If Yes, do a test: remove one of the pdf from iBooks.

    Close iBooks.

Go to the folder and right click on it and open with iBook."

The test file now showed up in iTunes.

So, I backed up all of the files to Finder

Located the iBooks folder in iCloud

Deleted all the PDFs in the iCloud folder

    Imported all to iBooks again

All the files are visible to iTunes again. Haven't synced to iPad yet, but they synced perfectly to iPhone including keeping the files in their proper Collections.

Thank you for your suggestion and for your help!

    Chuck
