Q: iPad 3 new cord & charger

HI All,

I'm new to the community, so forgive, if this question has been ask & answered a million times.

im in need of a new cord and charger for "new iPad" I believe it's called 3 new gen now.

i have an iPhone also.

in my search for new cord & charger, I've learned there are 10watts and 12 watts charger. What's the correct charger to buy? I would think, 12watts. I have noticed end charging my iPad with iPhone charger, doesn't charge as fast. At times  been pulled in all night, still not fully charger.

i Just want to purchase a new cord and charger, just like the kind a me with iPad. I see  stores now, the charger is sold seperate from the cord.

IS there a difference in cords?  I want to purchase 12watt charger, right? Where is the best place, that's less exspensive than buying from Apple or AT&T? Yes, I've been to eBay. That's where I learned they sell seperate cords & chargers.

Thanks for the Communtiy to come and find answers!

Hi, yes you want a 12W charger for your iPad. The best place to get the charger and the cable is an Apple Store but alternatively you could look on Amazon. Just make sure you get a MFi certified charger/cable so it is compatible and approved by Apple.

I believe the specs for your iPad is the 10W charger, but you can use the 12 if you want. many retailers sell official Apple products, I think when I got another charger I bought it from Walmart.

As to the cord, you can also get one that's apple branded, or you can get one from any 'good' manufacturer...by that I mean a well known name, Targus, Kensington, Belkin, etc.

Just don't get cheap junk from amazon.
