Changing iCloud ID to New Apple ID

I've looked at previous discussions and it seems the way to do this is to Sign Out of the iCloud (deleting the content from the phone/laptop) and go from there. My issue is I updated to the 9.3.5 iOS and then changed my Apple ID. So now it wants me to sign in to the old iCloud ID to validate me turning off Find My iPhone to even sign out of iCloud. I seem to be stuck 😟

OK, not sure what it is you are asking. Can you please tell us what specific issue you are running into? What wants you to sign into the old iCloud ID? Is it just asking for the passcode to that ID? If so, you need to supply it in order to turn off the Find My iPhone Activation Lock before you can complete the iCloud signout.

Did you change your Apple ID to a new email address, or did you set up a brand new Apple Account? If you just changed it, then use your current passcode to sign the old version of the ID out of iCloud. If you created a Apple account, then you will need the passcode for the old Apple account in order to sign out.

Cheers,
